Haven’t seen anything about this. What was altered? The only thing I can think that would drastically change the figure would be the face and Mattel isn’t that stupid. There would be riots in the streets!

Read there is no black on the hood around the skull and the sculpt of the havoc staff was changed. Also it will have those odd ankles like He-Man.

They have reissued figures in the past that have quick sell outs. They also have held over stock that is used as damage replacements. Those get sold off at some point farther down the line but they go quick. This is why the sub model is ideal for these figures. I know it’s not preferred for some collectors but this quick sell out is reminicent of the early days of MOTU classics when stuff sold out in minutes and instantly popped up on EBay for quadruple the price. Filmation He-Man is a really great figure and it looks as though Mattel is really stepping up. Hopefully this is a sign that Thundercats will be amazing.

I don’t like the fact that when these figures sell out they are not all going to fans to enjoy but to people hoping to make profits on Ebay. I can understand them making a bit of a profit but asking quadruple the regular price is just greedy.

Filmation Teela was big mess up but it was a pack in with a vehicle and basically free. We will get a proper Teela with Club Grayskull. I don’t think we should write the whole line off because of that anyway. Will there be QC issues and mistakes with Thundercats, probably, but I still feel the good will outweigh the bad just like with MOTU. Combed He-Man.org and didn’t see anything about changes to Skeletor. The ankles aren’t bad at all, not the ideal choice but far from horrible.

Edit** I found where they showed the possible changes to Skeletor. I do hope they color the inner hood black, seems silly not to.

I remember reading somewhere in these threads how everybody hoped that they would stick with the original TC logo and its colourscheme with the new Mattel line. Has anybody noticed that they actually did use it in a lot of the new marketing material, albeit with the CLASSICS subheader. I’m all for it. I really also hope that they use a lot of black in the actual packaging to be reminiscent of the OS. Wasn’t the MOTUC packaging somewhat reminiscent of the OS of MOTU?

MOTU classics packaging was quite a bit different than the original. I like the new packaging they have with the Filmation line. I really hope we get a box style with Thundercats. It would be awesome if they did a Cats lair motif for the Heroes and Mumm-Ra’s Tomb motif for the Villians but they don’t usually switch it up like that.

I like the Filmation He-Man but the more I look at it the boots don’t line up correctly with the leg muscles and the sword doesn’t look very cartoon accurate.

I think I prefer the standard one on the right. Although I do kind of prefer the Filmation head sculpt.

Having Filmation He-Man in hand I can say he is a pretty awesome figure. Really happy I got him and the packaging is really cool. But better than the old classics clamshells.

So glad I didn’t buy this figure. Even the sheath on his back is messed up…it doesn’t hold the sword correctly. I really hope they can do a better job with Thundercats.

I gave up in 2013, but in the last year I have been buying TMNT (vintage and 2012), Transformers and Marvel Legends. Some of the Transformers and Marvel Legends will be going on eBay soon.

i’ve only ever collected visionaries and the ghostbusters line mattel did a few years back . i am hoping the t cats line runs for a good while . i couldn’t collect three or four different lines i’d be out of my mind :smile respect to people that do .
