Which is cooler (T-Cats v He-Man)

Okay, so I got this idea from the last couple comments on the thread about the sword of omens vs. light sabers.

Which do you think is cooler…

“Thunder! Thunder! Thunder! ThunderCats Ho!”

or

“By the power of Grayskull! I have the power!”

Considering there are a lot of He-Man fans on this board, I think it’s a fair comparison.

I think the “thunder cats ho” is better than “I have the power” but not by much.

Gah I didn’t read the post before I voted. lol I think “By the power of Greyskull” sounds better than “Thundercats Ho”

As much as I love ThunderCats and am not that big a fan of He-Man, I actually think the He-Man phrase sounds cooler, especially with the music and sounds and all that went with it. But if we compared “By the power of Grayskull! I have the power!” to the opening theme of the OS ThunderCats, I’d pick the opening theme.

He-Man for me

the transformation and music… he-man.
But I like for now more the story of thundercats 2011.

if your talking bout series original style not intros id say hemans was better

The question was about the catch phrase/battle cries.

The wording for He-Man never made sense to me. Is “By the power of Grayskull!” really a complete sentence? I think it should be “By the power of Grayskull, I have the power!” But then you have “power” twice in the same sentence, which is redundant. Which leads to a proper sentence of “I have the power of Grayskull!” But that just doesn’t have a cool flow to it either…

Then again, “Thunder! Thunder! Thunder! ThunderCats Ho!” Could be seen as someone stuttering. But at least they show the sword grow with each “Thunder!” and the insignia beam with “ThunderCats Ho!”

Chris here…

This thread would possibly benefit from being titled “Which has the cooler catchphrase (T-Cats v He-Man)” - at first glance when I read it I thought the question was “Which series is cooler?”

As much as I feel like a traitor, I actually had to vote for He-Man on this one - there’s something very majestic and empowering about “By the Power of Grayskull”, especially the way John Erwin delivered those lines in the original series!

Take care…

This is going to be a fun thread… so far the Thundercats are ahead by a whisker =)

i know thats why i said it:D

ah sorry. When you said “style” I thought you meant the visual art direction of the show.

I liked He-Man as a kid, but I tried watching it a few years ago and it kind of made me cringe. So I gotta say ThunderCats is the better cartoon. But yeah, that wasn’t what this poll was about.

Can’t really decide… MOTU has a huge universe and it’s still expanding, while the ThunderCats were a cartoon based franchise. I voted for He-Man but I’d say 50% both.

I’ll start off by saying this; as much as I love the Thundercats, Masters of the Universe will always be my first love…

That said, I always thought He-Man’s line was a bit reduntant as well. After She-Ra came out, I thought the second line in her phrase was silly as well.. “I am She-Ra!”…

I always felt that a combination of the two would work better for both…

“For the honor of Grayskull, I have the power!”

My late vote..

It goes without saying…Thundercats HOO.

Never was much of a HE-MAN fan, many things i didn’t like with the old show.

Speaking strictly from a neutral standpoint, I have to the give vote to ThunderCats HO call!

He-Man’s summoning his power looks cool, but it’s ThunderCats call that really drives that thunder within you. Each “Thunder” is simply more exhilarating than the last, though 3 times is sufficient.

Same here. He-Man’s is the cooler phrase, to me.
